Beavers Pull Even With 7-4 Victory
The Baffin Island Beavers defeated the Maui Tropics, 7-4, at Rainbow Stadium today. Leading the charge for Baffin Island was catcher Mike MacFadden. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Thierry Garneau earned the win for Baffin Island. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 3-1. Brent Miller earned his 7th save in 7 tries.

It could have been a different outcome for Baffin Island, had it not been for Norberto Muńóz, the 28-year old left fielder . Muńóz contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put Baffin Island up, 1-0.

"We'll savor this win," Muńóz told the Baffin Island Observer, "then get ready for the next game."

The Tropics, now 8-14, continue their poor start.
