Rockets Prevail, 2-1, Over Seattle

Nassau and Seattle put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Nassau Rockets got a stellar performance from pitcher Rod Adams, who handcuffed the Seattle offense en route to a 2-1 win at Nassau Grounds. Adams picked up the win for Nassau, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Guan-cai Yong got the save, the 4th for him this season.
Had Doug Thompson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Thompson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Rockets.
"We found a way to get it done," Adams said.
Losses have been few and far between for the Pikes so far this season. Their record drops to 13-7.
