Greenville and Austin met at Greendale Community Field in front of a lively crowd.
The Greenville 84s stopped the Austin River Sharks, 9-3, behind an impressive performance from Enzo Díaz. The eight-time All-Star made life miserable for Austin pitching. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Sam Kettley earned the save for Greenville, his 1st.
It could have been a different outcome for Greenville, had it not been for Carlos Torres, the two-time All-Star . Torres contributed a bases-clearing triple in the top of the fifth inning to put Greenville up, 3-0.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Díaz said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
The 84s raised their record to 12-6.
