Pikes Come Back Late, Nip Boccabellas
|
It was a fun time at Pikes' Point Stadium, where the Pocatello Boccabellas and Seattle Pikes tangled.
Getting a good performance from first baseman Arnold Harmon, the Seattle Pikes defeated the Pocatello Boccabellas, 4-3. Harmon went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Pikes. Seattle reliever Manny Sandoval picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Adrián Martínez shouldered the loss.
The Pikes got a big at-bat from third baseman Iván Gonzáles. For the game, Gonzáles went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 2nd hit of the season gave Seattle a 4-3 lead.
"I like our moxie," said Pikes manager Kevin Hickey.
Seattle, now 2-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
