In a very sharp performance at Greendale Community Field, Steve Floyd of the Maui Tropics blanked the Austin River Sharks, 4-0. He permitted 3 hits and finished with 5 strikeouts and 2 walks in the Tropics victory.

"Steve goes out there and just goes about his business," Tropics manager Truman Bailey said in his postgame press conference. "I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. No matter the pitch, you know he's going to be where he needs to be."
