Noise Take Close Win Over Beavers
|
Baffin Island got a terrific performance from pitcher Thierry Garneau, but it wasn't enough to beat the Nevada Noise. Nevada won the Branda's Palace contest, 3-2. Garneau was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. With the win, Nevada has a record of 68-84. Baffin Island falls to 88-64.
The game came to an abrupt end with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. On a pitch from Thierry Garneau, Vern Carlton hit a sacrifice fly. It gave Nevada the 3-2 walk-off win.
"This wasn't a good win," said Carlton. "It was a great win."
