Rebels Subdue San Francisco, 4-2
|
Boston Rebels starter Ramón Estrada was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the San Francisco Bandits, 4-2. Estrada, now 10-13, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Ki-tong Shiu earned the save for Boston, his 4th of the year.
There were several reasons the Rebels beat the Bandits, but one factor was Miguel Rivería. In the bottom of the sixth, the Boston right fielder came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 3-2 lead.
San Francisco manager Felipe Díaz said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The 4th-place Bandits have dropped 4 straight games.
