D-Bags Win at Maui, 5-1
|
The Maui Tropics went down to defeat to Sergio Martínez and his Jersey Shore teammates. The final score was 5-1 in favor of the D-Bags. In 6 innings, Martínez surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Paco Gutiérrez earned the save for Jersey Shore, his 5th of the year.
Also making an impact was shortstop Millard Boyd, who drilled a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning for the D-Bags. For the game, Boyd was 2-5 with 2 singles.
"Sergio was throwing strikes, locating well," said Jersey Shore manager Carlos Uribe.
With the win, Jersey Shore goes to 83-63, while the Tropics fall to 56-91.
