Gang Green Reel Off Another Win
|
Benefiting from Frank Geddes's productive game, the Irvine Gang Green downed the New Orleans Looters, 5-3. Geddes went 2 for 4 with a home run for the Gang Green. Irvine reliever Germán Pérez picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-1. Gennarino Lucchetti was collared with the loss. Irvine has now reeled off 8 straight wins.
One of the key players for the Gang Green was catcher Tom Doherty, who drilled a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning. For the game, Doherty was 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"The wins are coming in bunches right now," said Geddes. "We'll enjoy it while it lasts."
