Boccabellas Hang 4-2 Loss on Panthers
|
The Pocatello Boccabellas topped the Vista Panthers, 4-2, in Continental League action at Connie Mack Stadium. The player of the game was Pocatello pitcher and Winnipeg, Canada native Kevin Bush. Bush got the win, improving to 15-7. He allowed 7 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Bush allowed 2 earned runs. Jaime Espinoza was credited with the save for Pocatello, his 35th of the season.
Also having an impact was designated hitter Marlon Phipps, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third for Pocatello. For the game, Phipps was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Phipps.
Pocatello is in 4th place in the Continental League Western Division with a record of 72-65.
