Lorenzo Sánchez never let the River Sharks get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Royale with Cheese to a 5-0 win. The winning pitcher was Sánchez, now 3-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. The River Sharks fall to 5-8 and continue to sputter in the early going.

In the top of the first, Tom Blake ambushed a 0-1 slider from Hiroshige Yamada and hit a solo home run. It gave Kalamazoo a quick 1-0 lead.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Sánchez told the Kalamazoo Herald.
