84s Suffer 4-2 Loss to Knights
|
New York Knights starter Elton Johnston was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Greenville 84s, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Johnston, now 9-9. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 10. Paco Ruíz got credit for the save for New York. It was his 9th of the year.
New York second baseman Dan Hamilton helped the Knights to the win. In the bottom of the third inning, the 26-year old second baseman stroked a 2-run home run. For the game, Hamilton went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Hamilton told the New York Times.
The current losing streak for Greenville has reached 4 games.
