G-Strings Hang 5-3 Loss on Marshals
|
Gibson Guitar Park was the site of a competitive game between the Houston Marshals and Nashville G-Strings.
The Houston Marshals got a superb performance from pitcher Daniel Grant, but the Nashville G-Strings still won the game, 5-3. Grant was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. Junior Mateo earned the save for Nashville, his 16th of the year.
Nashville took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Rob Grun stroked a 2-run triple to make it 5-3, G-Strings.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Nashville skipper Luis García. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
The G-Strings move to 44-85 with the win, while the Marshals drop to 60-70.
