Boccabellas Lose to Deplorables, 6-1
|
Fresno and Pocatello met at Connie Mack Stadium in front of a lively crowd.
The Fresno Deplorables picked up a win at Connie Mack Stadium, knocking off the Pocatello Boccabellas, 6-1. Starting pitcher Dionisio Penni was an essential part of his team's success. In 6.1 innings, Penni surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run.
Paul Mullins took Kevin Bush deep with two out in the top of the fifth. On a 1-2 cutter, Mullins drilled a 2-run home run to center. It was his 27th home run of the season and put Fresno on top, 3-1.
"We had a nice day," said Fresno skipper Steve McCann.
The Deplorables bumped their record to 73-54 with this latest triumph.
