The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace was the site of an exciting ballgame between the El Dorado Oilers and the Beech Mountain Mountaineers.
El Dorado right-hander Francisco Ríos pitched his team to victory over the Beech Mountain Mountaineers at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace. The final score was 5-4. Ríos went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 6-12. Craig Draper converted his 13th save in 14 tries.
Valentín Borges did his part for the Oilers, producing a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning. For the game, the catcher went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Ríos told the El Dorado Times.
El Dorado is now 51-75.
