Rich Ruffin helped his team muscle past the Maui Tropics, 4-3. In the game, the Nevada third baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The third-place Noise improved to 60-65.

Ruffin contributed when he hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. Coming with one out and a runner on 2nd, the home run proved to be critical to helping Nevada get the win.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Maui manager Truman Bailey said following the tough loss.
