Frenzy Knock Off Knights, 4-2
|
Niagara Falls and New York took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Behind a solid performance from left fielder Clyde Yarbrough, the Niagara Falls Frenzy defeated the New York Knights, 4-2. Yarbrough was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Frenzy. Kimitada Takai sewed up the save, his 4th.
Yarbrough had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-2 fastball from Elton Johnston, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Frenzy a 4-2 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Yarbrough.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Niagara Falls skipper Derek Booker.
Niagara Falls is now 43-81.
