The Seattle Pikes faced a tough opponent in Nevada pitcher Arthur López, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Branda's Palace by a final score of 2-1. López went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Seattle reliever Manny Sandoval picked up the win, upping his record to 6-3. Jorge Pérez was saddled with the loss. The first-place Pikes have a one-game lead in their division.
The most important at-bat for Seattle came in the top of the tenth inning, when second baseman Pete Rideout stroked a full count sinker to center for a run-scoring single, putting Seattle up, 2-1.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Kevin Hickey, the Seattle skipper. "This one tested us."
