The El Dorado Oilers beat the New Orleans Looters, 7-3, at The Bayou at Heineken Field. El Dorado right fielder Ashley Pickhills earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Barton Johnson, who threw 101 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 4 hits. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Oilers hope to make a postseason run.

Pickhills had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Oilers went on to win.
