The Springfield Stars got a superb performance from shortstop Juan Carlos Rodríguez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Nassau. The Rockets won the game, 5-3. In spite of the loss, Rodríguez was named the player of the game. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Guan-cai Yong was called on to finish, recording his 25th save. Today's win puts Nassau at 61-60, while Springfield falls to 98-23.
In the bottom of the first, Wilson Allen hit a 3-run home run for Nassau. The 31st home run of the season for the Nassau first baseman put the Rockets on top, 4-1.
"It feels good to get this one," Allen told the Nassau Times.
