Browns Topple Beavers with Late Rally
|
The St. Louis Browns picked up a win at Beaver Dam, knocking off the Baffin Island Beavers, 4-3. On the mound for St. Louis was right-hander Alex Stanford, who played a pivotal role in the win. With the win over Baffin Island, the Browns improved to 62-58.
Had Jorge Torres not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Torres hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Browns.
In postgame remarks, Torres said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
