So Cal starter Ramiro Jiménez put a stranglehold on the Austin offense. The left-hander had complete command of his circle change in leading the Bruins to a 4-1 win. Earning his 20th save of the year was Marty Burgess. The Bruins saw their win-loss record go to 70-44. At the same time, the River Sharks fell to 34-81.

Jiménez, now 8-7, scattered 2 hits over 8 innings for the Bruins.

"Ramiro's tempo and rhythm were good," said Bruins manager Jorge Rivera. "He was the key to us winning."
