Pikes Fall Short at Pocatello
|
The Boccabellas had to overcome a fine effort from Seattle pitcher Albert Lebel to grab a narrow 4-3 win at Connie Mack Stadium. Lebel went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Reliever Juan Álvarez picked up the win. His record improves to 5-2. Francisco Carrasco took the loss. With the win, the Boccabellas improved to 60-54.
It could have been a different outcome for Pocatello, had it not been for Sergio Solíz, the 23-year old left fielder . Solíz contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning to put Pocatello up, 4-3.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Solíz.
