Austin right-hander Armando Pérez made an effective start against the Springfield Stars at Greendale Community Field, leading his team to a 7-6 win. Austin reliever Luis Trujillo was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. José Valdéz took the loss for Springfield. Austin, at 34-79, occupies last place in the Continental League Central Division.

The River Sharks were down to their final out when center fielder Enrico Vargas turned a 1-0 slider from José Valdéz into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run made the Greendale Community Field crowd go wild.

"This place sure got loud," said Will Shaw, the Austin manager.
