Jones Dazzles in Nashville Win
|
The Nashville G-Strings went home winners at Gibson Guitar Park, thanks in large part to starter Bennie Jones. Jones silenced the St. Louis Browns, enabling Nashville to grab the 2-0 win. Junior Mateo earned the save, his 12th. The last-place G-Strings raised their record to 36-75.
Jones, a native of Hempstead, New York, was dealing all game. He kept St. Louis hitters off-balance, while giving the G-Strings 8 quality innings. Jones threw 109 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 5.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Jones.
