The Seattle Pikes trumped the Pocatello Boccabellas, 9-3, at Connie Mack Stadium. Seattle first baseman Will Brown was named player of the game for his performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. David Hill was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 3 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Seattle leads the Continental League Western Division by 6˝ games.
The Pikes beat the Boccabellas in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out double Dennis Stephenson produced in the top of the second. Batting against Pocatello pitcher Bud Baldwin, Stephenson gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run double.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Seattle manager Kevin Hickey.
