G-Strings Solve Knights, 6-2

The Nashville G-Strings reigned over the New York Knights in damp conditions at Gibson Guitar Park.
The Nashville G-Strings stymied the New York Knights, 6-2, at Gibson Guitar Park. George Smith, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 2-4 with a double. He scored 2 runs for Nashville. Nashville reliever Carlos Berru was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Dan Wilson. Junior Mateo recorded the save for Nashville, his 1st of the season.
Tied up with the Knights in the bottom of the fourth inning, the G-Strings got a boost from designated hitter Mike Callahan. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Callahan saw a 0-1 cutter from Dan Wilson and hit a 3-run home run to break the stalemate and put Nashville on top, 3-0.
"Nervous? No," said Callahan. "It was my time to shine."
The loss drops New York to 3-8.
