Díaz Bangs 4 out of the Park
|
Greenville 84s second baseman Enzo Díaz totally decimated the Niagara Falls Frenzy today, finishing with 4 home runs in a 8-3 Greenville win.
The Frenzy had no answer for Díaz, who finished the day 4-for-5 with 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
"What can I say? My guys could've shot the ball out of a rifle and he'd probably hit them out anyway," said Niagara Falls skipper Derek Booker. "There's nothing you can do when a guy gets in that kind of zone, you just hope he cools down some before you have to face him again."
When asked about his record performance, Díaz responded, "After the first two I just tried to do everything the same way and it worked."
Enzo Díaz hit a two-run home run off Otis Sykes in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Otis Sykes in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off George Nelson in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off George Nelson in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
In his stats this season, Díaz has posted a batting average of .352 with 141 hits in 401 at-bats, 26 home runs and 79 RBIs. He has also scored 93 runs, walked 53 times and compiled a .435 OBP.
