|
In a close game at Old Comiskey Park, the Chicago Machine edged the Nashville G-Strings, 5-4. Chicago left fielder José Alomar earned the nod as player of the game. He was 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times. Chicago reliever Juan Rodríguez picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-3. Ramiro Rivera was collared with the loss. The Machine improve their record to 45-65 with the win over Nashville.
Late in the game, first baseman Roberto Tobías had a big at-bat for Chicago. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring double off Ramiro Rivera. The play gave the Machine a 5-4 lead.
Tobías said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
