Big Game from Madrid Not Enough, Noise Lose
|
Nevada catcher Julián Madrid pounded San Francisco Bandits pitchers at Branda's Palace, but it was not enough to keep the Noise from falling, 9-8. Madrid was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Mitsunari Taguchi closed the game out for San Francisco, earning his 24th save. The Noise, at 51-57, have lost 4 in a row.
Juan Mendoza delivered a big hit for the Bandits. The veteran left fielder belted a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth. The longball put San Francisco on top, 6-2. Overall, Mendoza was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice.
"What a game," said Mendoza. "We needed every last run."
