The Austin River Sharks picked up a win at Old Comiskey Park, knocking off the Chicago Machine, 6-3. Starting pitcher Troy Lynn played a key role in the triumph. Lynn went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 6-11. With the victory, the River Sharks record now stands at 32-70.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and one out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when right fielder Harry Pitts got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run. The River Sharks went on to win.
"Nice to get this one," said Pitts. "Wins have been hard to come by."
