Maui got a terrific performance from pitcher Ronald Cotton, but it wasn't enough to beat the New Orleans Looters. New Orleans won the The Bayou at Heineken Field contest, 3-2. Cotton was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. The Looters saw their win-loss record go to 58-45. At the same time, the Tropics fell to 38-66.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With New Orleans trailing 2-1, Taylor Smith hit a fastball from Yong-taek Yi to right for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Looters had a walk-off win.

"I was a little disappointed," said Maui manager Truman Bailey. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
