Knights Sneak Past Calrissian, 4-3
|
In a close game at Mel Fields, the New York Knights edged the Orlando Calrissian, 4-3. New York right fielder Warren Potter earned the nod as player of the game. He went 4-6 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. New York reliever Steve Poe picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Mike Murray shouldered the loss. Their 38-62 record puts the Knights third in the National League Eastern Division.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 15th inning. With no one out, Pepe Carrasco hit a 2-0 fastball from Mike Murray for a run-scoring single. It put New York in front, 4-3.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said New York field general Joe MacVean.
