Bandits Solve Frenzy, 6-4
|
The San Francisco Bandits grabbed a 6-4 win over the Niagara Falls Frenzy at Bay View Park. San Francisco second baseman Glenn Melican was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once to earn player of the game honors. The winner was San Francisco reliever Carlos Ledezma, now 2-2. The loser was Terry Fields. Mitsunari Taguchi closed the door for San Francisco, picking up his 21st save of the year.
San Francisco grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Melican hit a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Bandits out in front, 4-1.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Melican.
The win puts the Bandits at 38-60, while the Frenzy drop to 31-67.
