Marshals Fall Short, 1-0, at Austin
|
The Austin River Sharks racked up a win at Greendale Community Field, bumping off the Houston Marshals, 1-0. Carlos Hernández, who started for Austin, pitched effectively for his team. Austin is now 28-63, while Houston is 36-57.
Tied up with the Marshals in the bottom of the fifth inning, the River Sharks got a boost from second baseman Eric Neal. With a runner on 3rd, Neal saw a 2-0 fastball from Carlos Tavárez and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Austin on top, 1-0.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Tom Lucott.
