Seattle Takes Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
With left fielder Manuel Rico leading the charge, the Seattle Pikes got a road win over the Springfield Stars, 3-2, in Game 1 of the League Championship today. Rico went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once at Kekambas Park to help Seattle take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Had Rico not come through in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Rico hit a run-scoring single. The Pikes never looked back after taking the 3-2 lead.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Rico. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday, October 21st, 2028 at Kekambas Park. The scheduled starters for the game are António Rijo for the Pikes and José López for the Stars.
