Oilers Jolt Mountaineers with Late Rally

The Oilers grabbed a win, 4-3, at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace, overcoming a fine effort from Beech Mountain pitcher Simon Martel. Martel went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. With the victory, the Oilers record now stands at 32-60.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With El Dorado trailing 3-2, Valentín Borges hit a changeup from Steve Griffin to right-center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Oilers had a walk-off win.
Beech Mountain manager Doug Raymond said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
