Late Rally by Knights Secures Win
|
The Knights had to overcome a fine effort from Niagara Falls pitcher Terry Fields to grab a narrow 6-4 win at Edmund Fitzgerald Field. Fields went 7.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. New York reliever Phil Davis picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-5. Terry Fields was collared with the loss. Picking up the save was Juan Ortíz, his 16th.
Lonnie Anderson had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth for the Knights. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and New York trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Anderson said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Frenzy, now 29-64, have lost 5 straight.
