Knights Get Road Win, 5-1
|
The New York Knights picked up a win at Fenway Park, knocking off the Boston Rebels, 5-1. On the mound for New York was right-hander Thatcher Smith, who played a pivotal role in the win. Smith, now 3-8, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Phil Davis was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities.
In the top of the third, Pepe Carrasco hit a run-scoring single for New York. The 108th hit of the season for the New York shortstop put the Knights on top, 2-1.
