The Austin River Sharks grabbed a 6-4 win over the Kansas City Kings at Greendale Community Field. Austin first baseman Pedro Guzmán went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 to earn player of the game honors. Hiroshige Yamada picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-9. He struck out 2 in 8.1 innings. Josh Graham got the save, his 6th in 9 chances.

Also making an impact was designated hitter Manny Copriviza, who drilled a 2-run double in the bottom of the third inning for the River Sharks. For the game, Copriviza went 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.

"I know we have our doubters," said Kansas City manager Ernesto Durán. "But I still have high hopes for this team."

With the win over Kansas City, the River Sharks improved to 27-61.
