Victory Over Looters Takes Nassau to 6-4
|
Nassau beat New Orleans on the strength of starter Luis Valentín's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 7-3 win. Valentín got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. Valentín allowed 2 earned runs. The Looters fall to 5-5 and continue their uneasy start to the 2028 season.
Nassau designated hitter Doug Thompson helped the Rockets go up, 2-0, in the top of the fourth inning. With the game tied, Thompson hit a 2-run single off New Orleans pitcher Anthony O'Connor.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Valentín. "Just do my job."
