The New York Knights got a sterling performance from designated hitter Ron Shelton, but the Rebels still prevailed, 6-5. Shelton was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Tony Rocha converted his 11th save in 13 tries. The Rebels now have a record of 32-57 with the win over New York.
Early in the game, first baseman Lorenzo Flores had a 2-run home run for Boston. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Rebels on top, 3-2.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Flores.
