The Houston Marshals thumped the Austin River Sharks, 8-2, at Mythology Coliseum. Juan Gómez was a big reason his team got the win. Gómez went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Carlos Tavárez, who threw 117 pitches over 8 innings. The left-hander was charged with 1 run on 5 hits.
