In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Kalamazoo left-hander Lorenzo Sánchez pitched his team to victory over the Kansas City Kings at Hawthrone Grill. The final score was 5-2. In 7.1 innings, Sánchez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Morgan McDormand got credit for the save for Kalamazoo. It was his 1st of the year.
The Royale with Cheese got a lift from left fielder Greg Handrahan who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Francisco Morales. It was his 2nd walk of the season and put Kalamazoo in front, 1-0.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Sánchez.
Kalamazoo is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 3rd in 8 games.
