Frenzy Walk Off with Win
|
Boston catcher Arturo Molina had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Molina went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, even as Niagara Falls beat the Rebels, 5-4. Molina was named the player of the game despite the loss. Esteban Juárez, credited with the win, is now 3-5. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. The last-place Frenzy raised their record to 28-59.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 4-4, second baseman Kel Pierce won it for Niagara Falls. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Pierce hit a 2-1 fastball from Yoshihiro Hasegawa for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 5-4 win.
"This place was rockin'," Pierce said.
