Craig Leads Beavers to Win
|
The Baffin Island Beavers easily defeated the New York Knights, 13-4, at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark, with shortstop Dave Craig a main contributor to the win. He was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for Baffin Island. Luis Vargas earned the win to go to 6-7. He allowed 4 earned runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. The Beavers now have a record of 52-34.
In the top of the first inning, right fielder Eduardo García came through big-time for the Beavers. With Baffin Island leading 1-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Baffin Island manager Chris Black.
