Rockets Win at El Dorado, 9-6
|
The El Dorado Oilers and Nassau Rockets were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace.
Nassau shortstop Salvador Borbón was instrumental in his team's 9-6 win over the El Dorado Oilers. Borbón went 2-3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Rockets. The winner was Luis Cortéz in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Mitch Brown took the loss.
Nassau grabbed control in the top of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 1st, Howard Parker delivered a run-scoring triple, to make it 5-4 in favor of the Rockets.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Parker.
The Rockets, at 42-43, sit in second place in the National League Southern Division.
