Frenzy Nip Pikes, 4-3
|
The Niagara Falls Frenzy eked out a 4-3 win versus the Seattle Pikes at Edmund Fitzgerald Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Otis Sykes, who captured player of the game honors. Esteban Juárez got the save, his 15th in 18 chances. The Frenzy improve their record to 27-57 with the win over Seattle.
Also having an impact was designated hitter Troy Lau, who stroked a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the fifth for Niagara Falls. For the game, Lau was 1-4 with a triple.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Lau told a Niagara Falls Observer reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
