In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Pocatello Boccabellas topped the New York Knights by the score of 9-4, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Marlon Phipps. Phipps was 2-3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Boccabellas. Kevin Bush earned the win for Pocatello. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 8 hits, while striking out 10. With the win, he raised his record to 10-4.
An important at-bat for Pocatello came with two out in the top of the fourth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Phipps hit a 2-run double, which contributed to the Boccabellas win.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Phipps.
Pocatello, at 44-38, sits in third place in the Continental League Western Division.
