Pikes Defeat Marshals, 6-4
|
Seattle Pikes starter António Rijo pitched a strong game against the Houston Marshals at Mythology Coliseum, leading the Pikes to a 6-4 win. Cristián Escobar earned the save for Seattle, his 24th of the year. The first-place Pikes now have a 5-game winning streak.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the fourth inning. Facing Houston hurler Ron Scott, Pete Rideout, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, drew a walk. The Pikes went on to win.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play ever better," said Seattle manager Kevin Hickey.
